Florida State LB All-Star Player Departs To Play For The Colorado Buffaloes In 2024…

Florida State LB DJ Lundy heading to play for the Colorado Buffaloes in 2024

On Monday, Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders and his team assisted in bringing a holiday gift to Buff Nation. In a time of need, the Buffaloes have added a seasoned, proven player. After spending four years at Florida State, linebacker DJ Lundy intends to transfer to Colorado for the 2024 campaign.

The 6-foot-1, 244-pound Lundy recorded 170 tackles, 14 for a loss, 2.5 sacks, seven interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery during that run in Tallahassee.

He was also used situationally on offense, scoring two rushing touchdowns and one receiving score.

Lundy graded out at 78.2 overall after playing 403 defensive snaps in 2023, placing him in the top six Seminole defenders who contributed to the team’s undefeated record, according to Pro Football Focus.

The prior year, in 2022, Lundy graded out at 74.6 by PFF. For perspective, only Travis Hunter (74.8) graded out better than that on Colorado’s defense this past season.

Lundy saw action in a total of 42 contests with the Seminoles and will have one year of eligibility remaining to compete with the Buffaloes.

Lundy, a native of Ocilla, Georgia, assisted in leading Irwin County as a senior to a 13-0 record and the 2A state title. After contributing to an Indians defense that gave up just 5.4 points per game, including seven shutouts, he was named the best defensive player in his region. In his sophomore campaign, Lundy also assisted Irwin County in winning a state championship. Additionally, he finished 2019 with a perfect 36-0 record after winning three straight state wrestling championships.

Lundy visited Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech on official visits prior to signing a high school letter of intent with Florida State.
