Jacksonville Jaguars Re-Sign $99.99Million Ex-Ultra-Talented, High Ceiling Former  2nd Round Wide Receiver Due To….

Report: Seahawks Signing Former Second Round Wide Receiver

The Seattle Seahawks had a fairly low-key free agency, with the shrewd signings of some reliable older veterans like linebacker, Jerome Baker and safeties, Rayshawn Jenkins and K’Von Wallace, about the extent of their activity over the March period.

The Seattle Seahawks Unbalanced Offensively

Questions still remain offensively for Pacific North West’s sole NFL representative, with the future of quarterback, Geno Smith, very much up in the air, and the solidity of the Seahawks’ interior offensive line very questionable, especially after the loss of guard, Damien Lewis, to the Carolina Panthers,

One area, however, which has been a consistently strong position group for Seattle Seahawks is their receiving corps, with the trio of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith Njigba forecasting as one of the most impressive in the league.

Even so, it seems that the now Mike McDonald-led team have decided to find reinforcements for what is already an excellent group, and are taking a chance on a talented, albeit injury prone receiver who has been limited to less than 300 combined receiving yards over the past two seasons, per Mike Garafolo.

Laviska Shenault Jr. Heading To The West Coast

Laviska Shenault Jr. had much hype coming out of Colorado as a Cordarrelle Patterson + type player, a tall, stocky, hybrid receiver and returner, who could even contribute to the rushing game on jet sweeps, and on specific offensive packages, in the backfield.

Whilst the Seahawks are obviously already fairly well stocked on the receiving end of the roster, it makes sense to add some cheap, high upside insurance in case of injury.

Equally, with long-time Seattle Seahawks Veteran, Tyler Lockett, having a whopping $30 million cap hit that can be cut for just a dead cap of $4 million, Seattle could well be looking to the future for their next perimeter star.

Jaguars quotes of the week: ‘He’s the complete package’…

Free agency is petering out, and the NFL Draft is ramping up. But what have people been saying about the Jacksonville Jaguars this past week? Here are the best sound bites from the last seven days:

“I felt extremely disrespected”

Let’s begin all the way back last Thursday, when one of the Jags’ recent free agency signings was lamenting his former employers.

While Arik Armstead was on the Third and Long Podcast, he explained how his departure from the San Francisco 49ers came about – and needless to say, he was less than impressed with how they valued his services:

Essentially, John Lynch asked Armstead to take a pay cut, something the defensive lineman was unwilling to consider. Considering his production over the past nine years with the 49ers, it’s easy to understand his point of view. San Fran’s loss is Jacksonville’s gain – and we can’t wait to see him make Lynch regret his frugality in 2024.

“He is a young player that we’re excited about”

It’s fair to say that, after being selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Tank Bigsby didn’t really have the rookie season that most Jags fans were hoping for.

Speaking to the media last week, head coach Doug Pederson acknowledged that there was a lot more to come from Bigsby, and was very much planning to increase his workload in his second year:

Travis Etienne had an up-and-down 2023, probably not helped by having to shoulder the majority of the workload in the backfield. Offering him some support in the form of a galvanized Bigsby would go some way to getting the Jags run game amongst the best in the league.

“As stout as they come against the run”
