Cowboys $900 Million QB Star-Player Broke His (ankle) out of walking boot Due to….

It's so over" "This is definitely concerning" — Cowboys fans worried as Dak Prescott spotted in walking boot

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is out of a walking boot following a minor sprain of his right foot, ESPN and NFL Network reported on Thursday. A photo posted on social media on Wednesday showed Prescott in a walking boot in Cabo San Lucas, but it’s unclear how or when the injury occurred. The Cowboys haven’t held an organized workout since June 5.

Per the reports, Prescott is expected to be ready to practice when the Cowboys open training camp on July 25. Prescott, 30, is entering the final season of his four-year, $160 million deal and is due to earn $29 million in 2024. Dallas is looking to work out an extension but talks have not progressed. Last month, a Texas judge dismissed a lawsuit accusing Prescott of sexual assault. A Sept. 13 hearing is scheduled to determine if legal action should be taken against the accuser.

The Dallas Cowboys fanbase should be extra concerned following a report Thursday that quarterback Dak Prescott is wearing a walking boot due to a right foot sprain. Dallas Morning News‘ Calvin Watkins made the report two days after a rumor about Prescott’s health went viral from a sports bettor.

The timeline isn’t a good look in the legalized gambling era.

As previously discussed on GH, professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik went viral on Tuesday for stating that sports bettors, who follow certain beat writers, had inside information on a rumor that Prescott had an MRI: Fezzik said on the Ross Tucker Podcast that bets have been coming in heavy on the under for the number of Cowboys wins this season.

“News is, [Prescott’s] not 100 percent, and they’ve been betting against the Cowboys the last three days. There’s rumors that he had an MRI. That’s unconfirmed, but that’s the rumors that I’m hearing. Money has been coming against the Cowboys. Their season win number is now down to ten.” Fezzik said.

Fezzik isn’t sure where the information on the Prescott rumor came from. However, he said most of the bettors follow beat writers religiously.

Mike Fisher with Athlon Sports called the report irresponsible and spoke to a source claiming the story was a “waste” of time

By Independence Day, photos started surfacing of Prescott wearing a walking boot. It was confirmed the star quarterback, in the midst of contract negotiations with the Cowboys, was indeed dealing with a sprained foot.

Watkins and the NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport are reporting Prescott’s injury is not considered serious or anything that would impede his ability to practice when training camp starts on July 25.

Sports bettors don’t seem to think that is the case. As Fezzik said, the Cowboys’ over/under win total was brought down to ten games in the previous week, with the majority of professional bettors taking the under.

Maybe those sports bettors are quickly jumping the gun on how severe Precott’s injury is. Or maybe they have better inside intel on Prescott’s injury than the public. (Prescott has a previous right ankle injury.)

Viral Dak Prescott photo raises injury concerns

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott raised some alarm when a recent photo showed him on vacation while wearing a walking boot.

The viral image was posted Wednesday by veteran Spanish announcer Juan Carlos Vazquez. The image, purportedly from Los Cabos in Mexico, showed Prescott wearing a large boot on his right foot.

Naturally, the image attracted plenty of attention. On Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network clarified that Prescott is dealing with a “minor” foot sprain. According to Rapoport, the injury is not expected to impact his preparations for 2024.

This is still not ideal news for the Cowboys, but the issue does not sound serious. The team opens training camp in Oxnard on July 24, so we will see how Prescott is feeling at that point.

It has been an offseason full of intrigue for Prescott, whose contract status also remains a huge question. Ideally, his foot will not become a big issue, but we will not know for sure for a few weeks.

Police last month decided not to pursue charges against Dak Prescott after a woman accused the Dallas Cowboys quarterback of sexual assault, and a lawsuit against him has now been thrown out as well.

A judge in Collin County, Texas, dismissed the sexual assault lawsuit against Prescott on Wednesday, according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. A hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 13 to determine if sanctions are warranted against the Fort Worth woman who made the allegations against Prescott.

The judge, Angela Tucker, ruled that the accusation was unfounded.

“Despite [the accusers] and her legal team’s relentless efforts to extort money and damage Dak’s reputation, justice has consistently prevailed and will continue to do so,” Prescott’s attorney, Levi G. McCathern, said in a statement to the Dallas Morning News.

The woman who made the allegations filed a complaint in March claiming Prescott sexually assaulted her in the back of an SUV outside a strip club in 2017.

Prescott filed a lawsuit against the woman in March after his attorneys said they received correspondence from the woman’s legal counsel two months earlier demanding $100 million. Prescott’s lawyers claim the woman was trying to extort the quarterback by demanding money in exchange for not pursuing criminal charges.

Prescott denied the allegation and said the woman was making a money grab attempt by accusing him of “a rape case I obviously did not do.”

Prescott had one of his best seasons as a pro last year with 4,516 passing yards, 36 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. The Cowboys had another disappointing playoff exit with a first-round blowout loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.

Prescott has been seeking a contract extension from the Cowboys, and there have been reports that he wants a record-breaking salary.

The Dallas Cowboys opted to wait on a Dak Prescott contract extension, and they might wind up paying for that now.

Trevor Lawrence’s new contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, which averages $55 million annually, may end up resetting the market for Prescott, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports. Agents and executives told Robinson that Prescott could seek as much as $60 million annually in extension talks with the Cowboys if he wanted to.

Prescott is a year away from free agency and has a no-tag clause in his existing contract. As such, the Cowboys essentially have to pay him soon or risk losing him. Prescott would be in high demand if he were to hit the open market, so Prescott can essentially afford to bet on himself and make the Cowboys negotiate on his terms.

The Cowboys seemed to be prioritizing a Prescott extension when the offseason started, but owner Jerry Jones suggested the team did not necessarily have to get a deal done as quickly as possible. Sure enough, the Cowboys dragged their feet as the likes of Lawrence essentially reset the market in the interim.

Reports have indicated that the Cowboys remain eager to work out a deal with Prescott, but have simply gone through the process slowly. That seems like it will work out nicely for Prescott, who might reset the market again.
