Cowboys Bring In The Best QB Former MVP Who Will Take Dak Prescott Place Due To…

NFL MVP Dak Prescott? Time for Cowboys QB to stake his claim - ESPN

During a recent edition of his “4th and 1” podcast, former Carolina Panthers star quarterback and one-time NFL Most Valuable Player Cam Newton shared some high praise for current Dallas Cowboys starting signal-caller Dak Prescott.

The one with a Super Bowl is Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, who became a three-time champion and three-time Super Bowl MVP this past February. Meanwhile, Newton noted that he “would prefer Dak over” Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons, Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers and Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

ll of the players Newton mentioned signed lucrative deals at some point between the summer of 2022 and the ongoing offseason.

“It’s not what I think Dak is,” Newton added, “it’s what the market dictates Dak to be, and he’s better than half the guys on this list.”

According to Pro Football Reference, Prescott finished the 2023 regular season ranked first in the NFL with 36 touchdown passes and second among qualified players with a 72.7 adjusted QBR, a 105.9 passer rating and a 51.5% passing success rate en route to finishing second in MVP voting.

Despite all of that, Prescott remains in the final year of a contract that prevents Dallas from franchise-tagging him for 2025. It’s believed he could look to earn at least $60M per season via his next deal if he hits the open market in March.

Unless Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones comes to an agreement with Prescott before September, some will continue to wonder if Jones is turned off at the idea of paying the 30-year-old who has thus far accumulated a career playoff record of 2-5. Even if Jones ultimately decides he wants to commit to Prescott beyond February 2025, the veteran entering his ninth NFL season may choose to bet on himself and play in a contract year.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently did some damage control after fans were alarmed by a circulating photo of him in a walking boot.

Prescott was seen wearing a bulky protective boot on his right foot while walking along a harbor in Los Cabos, Mexico (photo here). A report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later identified Prescott’s injury as a “very minor foot sprain.”

On Thursday, Prescott downplayed the foot issue even further in his comments to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The 30-year-old QB explained that the protective boot was merely precautionary while he went deep sea fishing.

“I’m great. … The last time I went deep sea fishing my [ankle] swole up… same ankle, same issues,” Prescott told Hill via text.

Prescott underwent surgery to repair a compound fracture dislocation of his right ankle back in 2020. The injury forced Prescott to miss the final 11 games of the 2020 season.

Prescott was able to return by Week 1 of the following season. He only missed one game during the 2021 campaign due to a calf strain.

Last season, Prescott played in all 17 regular-season games for the Cowboys. The three-time Pro Bowler tallied an NFL-best 36 passing touchdowns and finished second in MVP voting behind Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.

Malik Hooker says discipline of Mike Zimmer should help Cowboys defense improve…

Cowboys defensive players loved Dan Quinn, who left as the team’s defensive coordinator to become Washington’s head coach. They won’t love Mike Zimmer as much, but could the defense be even better than it was under Quinn because of that?

Safety Malik Hooker seems to think it’s a possibility.

“I would say the biggest difference is the discipline that we are going to have this year,” Hooker said on Keyshawn Johnson’s All Facts, No Brakes podcast, via Ivan Lambert of USA Today.

Quinn was the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator for three seasons, and the team ranked fourth, ninth and sixth respectively in yards allowed and 19th, 12th and fifth in points allowed. He won assistant coach of the year in 2021 after taking over a defense that was the worst in team history in 2020.

“I love DQ,” Hooker said. “We still talk to this day. He’s a big reason why I am still in Dallas to this day. There is a certain way you have to coach certain guys. I feel like because of how player-oriented DQ was, guys would relate to him, and he wouldn’t have to coach a certain way that Zim does now.

“Mike Zimmer will give you a couple of chances to mess up. If you keep messing up and can’t get it right, [he] is going to get somebody else in there. Dan Quinn, on the other hand, is more player-oriented. If something wasn’t going right or we kept messing up, he’d level it down make it easier for everyone to go out there and do what they were going to do.”

The Cowboys’ coaching staff, all of whom are on one-year contracts, will begin the 2024 season on the hot seat. And, after not doing much in free agency, owner Jerry Jones is expecting the Cowboys to do more with less.

Eating Disorders, Low Pay & Rejection: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Downside Explained….

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders recently premiered on Netflix, and the unscripted show chronicles the lives of the women who join the famous cheer squad. The Dallas Cowboys, an American football team, and their cheerleading squad are renowned the world over for their skill, professionalism, and stunning good looks. The team is located in Texas, but women from all over the country travel long distances and make enormous sacrifices just for a chance to make the team.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were formed in 1967, after the Dallas Cowboys General Manager, Tex Schramm, saw a local woman walking down the aisles during a game. She was wearing a skimpy outfit and cowboy boots. Since then, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, or DCC, has been an integral part of the NFL experience. However, being on the team isn’t as glamorous as it looks. America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 1 showcases the grueling audition process, the strict rules the women must follow, and the shocking truth about their extremely low pay.

During the season, Victoria talks about how her pursuit of perfection has driven her to vicious cycles of binging and purging. While Victoria is brave enough to talk about her eating disorder, there are likely other women on the team suffering in silence. They might benefit from her being open about it.

Though the NFL is America’s most successful and most profitable sports league, they pay their cheerleaders relatively low wages. According to Time Magazine, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders don’t make much money. The women earn about $500 per game, and around $20 an hour for practices, which adds up to roughly $75,000 per year. Though this is a respectable salary, it’s not commensurate with the amount of grueling work that goes into being on the team.

The hardest part of watching the women who work so hard to make the team on America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is knowing that many of them won’t make the cut. After all their hard work and sacrifices, some women will be sent home brokenhearted and in tears. Thankfully, many Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders didn’t make the team their first time, and the rejected women can always try again during America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 2.
