Potential Transfer Portal Targets for the Georgia Bulldogs’ 2024 Season
For the past few seasons, the transfer portal has provided a very interesting wrinkle to the college football offseason. An influx of players finding new teams has helped many bolster their roster and fill holes, all while simultaneously stressing other fan bases out.
Because prominent Bulldog players use the transfer portal each year to leave the team, the Georgia Bulldogs have grown quite accustomed to it. The Bulldogs have demonstrated that they are more than happy to add players via the portal when they see fit, despite the fact that they nearly always have more exits than acquisitions. The following is a list of players who the Dawgs will most likely be targeting in the 2024 offseason.
Brother of current NFL running back Travis Etienne, the Bulldogs will likely look to nab the former Florida Gator as a way to bolster the strength of their running back room. Etienne will also provide much-needed depth to a position that was greatly hurt by injuries early in the 2023 season.
Xzavier McLeod
McLeod is another fellow SEC player that the Dawgs will look to add to their roster. Standing at 6-foot-5, the former South Carolina Gamecock’s size would be an excellent addition to the Bulldogs’ interior defensive line that will likely see many departures to the draft this offseason.
London Humphreys
Many Bulldog supporters may be familiar with London Humphreys from the team’s game against Vanderbilt this season. During the first drive, the 6-foot-3 wide-out scored a touchdown pass from 49 yards out, putting the Commodores ahead 7-0. He would be a great addition to the Bulldogs’ wide receiver room because of his height and speed.
Walter Nolen
A member of Texas A&M’s historic 2022 recruiting class, Nolen’s 5-star skillset combined with his size and speed would make him another great addition to the Bulldogs’ interior defensive line.
LT Overton
Yet another member of the Aggies 2022 defensive line class. Overton, a native of Alpharetta, Georgia, has the potential to be a monster addition to the Bulldogs’ defensive line. Should he decide to sign, he will probably contribute right away.

Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers becomes the first player to win the John Mackey award for the best tight end twice
Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers was announced Friday as the 2023 winner of the John Mackey award. His win is historic as he becomes the first player ever to win the award twice in his college career, via the SEC Network on X.
The player selected by the selection committee as the best college tight end in the country is awarded the John Mackey award each year. The Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end John Mackey of the Baltimore Colts is honored by the award’s name. Throughout his remarkable career, Mackey changed the way tight ends play by winning three Super Bowls, being selected to the first team of the NFL three times, and being included on the 50th and 100th Anniversary All-Time Teams. Since 2000, the award has been given in his honor.
Bowers is now the first recipient of the award twice. Bowers, who is widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL draft, has had an incredible Bulldogs career. This season, Bowers caught 56 passes for 714 yards and six touchdowns despite missing three games. He participated in fifteen games and recorded 63 receptions for 942 yards and seven touchdowns the previous season when he took home the award.
This year, Bowers wasn’t the only Bulldog to win a prize. Sedrick Van Pran-Granger took home the Jacobs Blocking Trophy outside of Bowers, and Ladd McConkey, a wide receiver, was awarded the Wuerffel Trophy in recognition of his exceptional community service.
