Deyvid Palepale Break Down Flip From USC To Michigan Football…

Breaking down flip of Deyvid Palepale from USC to Michigan football

Michigan football has been trending in the right direction for 2024 defensive lineman Deyvid Palepale, who has been committed to USC.

Before his pledge to the Trojans, the Wolverines were a formidable opponent. In fact, the 6-foot-2, 305-pound defensive tackle from Pennsylvania seemed to be the favorite to play for Michigan football.

However, the Trojans got the better of the Wolverines in the first part of the recruitment. Michigan didn’t quit though and after a terrible season defensively for the Trojans, as well as a 13-0 season and a Big Ten title for the Wolverines, Michigan has pulled off the flip.

Breaking down a flip for the Wolverines

Palepale has been trending with predictions to flip but finally made it official on Saturday night, becoming the 26th commitment in the 2024 class. Palepale is ranked No. 739 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The defensive tackle told The Wolverine that Jesse Minter had likened him to defensive tackle Mazi Smith, a former Michigan player, and that nose tackle appears to be his best position going forward.

Palepale is the third true defensive lineman to commit to the Wolverines in the 2024 class joining Ted Hammond and also Manuel Beigel.

Of course, some Michigan football fans might roll their eyes at another three-star commitment. However, as we have learned from countless examples, U-M is elite at evaluations.

The Wolverines are as good as it gets in that department, especially on the defensive line with Mike Elston, so I feel optimistic that Palepale will outplay his ranking as many Wolverines do.
