Auburn is making a lot of effort to get Ryan Williams to renounce his Alabama commitment. The five-star wide receiver spent the weekend with the Tigers, with the early signing period starting on the 20th.

Maybe what he wore on the Plains says everything there is to know about him.

Prior to his recent reclassification, Williams—a native of Saraland, Alabama—was the highest-ranked pass catcher in the college football recruiting class of 2025. As of right now, he is regarded as one of the top-15 players in the country for this class.

26 different schools offered Williams. Nick Saban, Holmon Wiggins, Travaris Robinson and the Crimson Tide ultimately received his pledge way back in October of 2022. It has been more than a year!

Despite the long-time allegiance to Alabama, Williams has allowed Auburn to present its best case. Multiple current players joined him on Instagram live last week to pitch him on the Tigers.

When Ryan attended Sunday’s basketball game against USC, the entire student section chanted, “we want Ryan.” Williams appeared to have had an amazing time on his impromptu trip and was smitten with the love.

However, while on the visit to Auburn, Williams wore an Alabama sweatshirt.

He swung by ‘The Atelier,’ a really cool vintage/designer clothing/thrift store near downtown, to pick up a new outfit ahead of the basketball game. The famous ‘A’ was displayed proudly on his chest as he did.

This could mean everything. This could mean nothing.

It is the reason why recruiting is so much fun. Similar to the NBA offseason, where rumors and conjecture run rampant and cause fan bases to lose it when things don’t work out, this situation is similar.

It’s hilarious that Williams, while visiting Auburn on business, is sporting an Alabama hoodie. particularly if the Tigers can’t get him off the Tide. Their time and efforts would have been greatly wasted if they had only watched a five-star prospect sign with their fiercest opponent.
