$700 Million Ex-Florida State Five-Star Cornerback Staying To Continue College Career…

FSU opens as 28.5 favorite over Boston College - Tomahawk Nation

The NCAA Transfer Portal doesn’t just provide an avenue for players to move around for massive NIL deals. It’s also a way for someone to earn a second if their stint at a program doesn’t work out for whatever reason.

In the Celebration Bowl, FAMU defeated Howard to finish 12-1 under head coach Willie Simmons’ sixth year in charge. Simmons has an overall record of 45-13, which includes a 32-5 record in the MEAC. In 2024, the Rattlers will play FBS teams like Troy and Miami.

On Thursday evening, Tate earned an opportunity closeby to his former program to continue his college career. He’ll be sticking around in Tallahassee after signing with FAMU. It’s expected that Tate will have one to two years of eligibility remaining.

The Florida native was the top signee in Mike Norvell’s first class and played for the Seminoles for three years. Tate only made one appearance in garnet and gold, but the majority of his contributions were made on the scout team. In 14 snaps, he did not record any statistics during FSU’s 2021 59-3 victory over UMass.

Tate was regarded as the No. 22 overall prospect, the No. 3 CB, and the No. 4 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. He competed in the 2019 The Opening Finals and was a 2020 Under Armour All-American. Tate also played basketball and ran track for Freedom High School, posting a personal best of 10.91 seconds in the 100 meter during his junior year.

Head coach Mike Norvell described Marvin as a dynamic athlete with track record of success at the collegiate level.
