Rugby’s $900 Million All-Star Player Has Being Over-Due For The Season Concerning His Eyes Injury…

Every player experiences aches, pains, and complaints throughout the season, but occasionally a problem is more complicated than it first appears.

In addition to rupturing his pectoral muscle in the last game of England’s three-match Test Series against Tonga, veteran Chris Hill of the Huddersfield Giants also suffered a severe dislocated finger.

That initially appeared to rule Hill out of action for the start of the 2024 Super League season, but as he clarifies the horrific finger injury, the 36-year-old still hopes to play for the Giants in the first round.

“It has been a slow start for me because I had double surgery,” Hill said to League Express.

Both the tendon in my finger and my pec were reattached. As long as I stay on course, I should be ready and excited for the season to begin.

“My goal is round one, depending on who you talk to! The physiotherapists will likely advise more time, but in my mind, I’ve already completed round one. Normally, a pec takes three to four months to heal, but I’m already far ahead and moving quickly.

“My finger kept dislocating in the second game for England. Then I played week three for England and it wouldn’t go back in.

“The tendon has snapped, I’m going to the specialist again. They have already reattached my tendon and ligaments, it’s just a matter of time letting the tendon heal and getting it mended again. A finger is a finger!”

Hill’s head coach, Ian Watson, had previously said that a recharge was ‘much-needed’ for the veteran after such a gruelling year.

It’s a blow because Chris is important to us, Watson said.

“He heals quickly by nature, but it’s a significant injury, so even though the season won’t start until later, we also have to take into account that he might not be back at that point.

We’re trying to see the bright side, so maybe being sidelined will give him a little respite—a blessing in disguise.

“Chris acknowledged that he had some burnout and found it difficult to recover from the World Cup in 2022, so he might benefit from a good rest when he does return.”
