Organizational Complexity “All Eyes In” As Veterans Are Back…

Yankees Reportedly Re-Sign Two Veterans To Improve Organizational Depth

Yankees could sell on 4 veteran players at the deadline

According to reports, New York took some action on Friday to increase organizational depth.

The New York Yankees have made a few major moves already this offseason, but they also have added depth in smaller moves.

New York has made plenty of headlines already this offseason with its acquisitions of outfielders Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo but still needs to add. The Yankees won just 82 games last year and one of the biggest reasons why they struggled was their depth.

The Yankees dealt with a wide range of injuries and they led to the club’s depth being tested. While the Yankees have added some star power this offseason already, the club still needs to have more depth on the roster just in case injuries pop up.

New York did just that Friday as the club reportedly re-signed utility man Billy McKinney and pitcher Anthony Misiewicz to minor league deals, according to YES Network’s Jack Curry.

“Billy McKinney and Anthony Misiewicz have signed minor league deals with the Yankees,” Curry said.

McKinney appeared in 48 games last season with the Yankees and saw time in left field, center field, right field, and first base. The 29-year-old clubbed six home runs, drove in 14 runs, and slashed .227/.320/.406.

Misiewicz only appeared in three games at the big league level with New York last season and logged a 3.38 ERA while allowing one earned run in 2 2/3 innings pitched.

At this point, neither McKinney nor Misiewicz are expected to have large roles with the big league club in 2024 but it could never hurt to add depth with big league experience to help out at the minor league level.

Yankees announcer repeats major Aaron Judge, Juan Soto worry…..

Yankees' Aaron Judge on Juan Soto Trade Rumors: 'Would Be Fun to See Him Be in NY' | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report

Former New York Yankees hitting coach Sean Casey recently made it known he’s no fan of club captain Aaron Judge serving as a full-time center fielder after the Yankees acquired All-Star outfielder Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.

Yankees play-by-play announcer Michael Kay repeated Casey’s take during Thursday’s edition of “The Michael Kay Show” that airs on ESPN New York.

The first move Kay referenced involved the Yankees landing outfielder Alex Verdugo from the Boston Red Sox. As recently as Friday morning, knowledgeable individuals such as Greg Joyce of the New York Post predicted that Judge will begin Opening Day 2024 as New York’s center fielder despite injury concerns that come with the 6-foot-7, 282-pound superstar playing such a grueling position.

After Judge went down with a hip issue last spring, Joe Rivera of The Sporting News shared a lengthy history of the slugger’s injuries throughout his Yankees tenure. That was before Judge suffered a torn ligament in his big right toe when he slammed into a fence at Dodger Stadium on June 3. That setback ultimately kept the 2022 American League Most Valuable Player out of the lineup until July 28.
