Robbery Attack Against Bulldogs During The Playoff…

The Georgia Bulldogs were robbed of a spot in the College Football Playoff…

It’s time to fully comprehend what happened now that the College Football Playoff selections have settled. The country was plundered. The SEC was defrauded. Sadly, though, the Georgia Bulldogs were plundered. This past week, almost everyone with a microphone and a platform has been feigning sadness for the Florida State Seminoles. Yes, the unbeaten ACC champion ought to be guaranteed a spot in the four-team playoff, but this hasn’t been a typical year. In addition to having six deserving candidates for a national championship, the College Football Playoff Committee also had to consider the injuries sustained by possible Heisman Trophy winners when making their selections.

I did not envy the CFP Committee this year.

However, that doesn’t excuse them from making a choice that was so obviously incorrect. To get the best product on the field, the CFP Committee should aim to choose the top four teams in the country. The TV ratings, on the other hand, tend to themselves. Thus, while everyone pretends to be interested in watching the Michigan Wolverines defeat the Brock Glenn-led Seminoles 47–47, they have failed to notice the true highway robbery that is taking place here:

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the four best teams in the nation; the Washington Huskies are not.

The Washington Huskies play in a weak, overrated Pac-12 Conference. Narrowly escaping with two wins over a flawed Oregon Ducks’ team shouldn’t punch anyone’s ticket to the CFP. However, beating four, top-20 SEC teams (none of these games were competitive) and losing to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship by three points should provide a standing invitation for the Bulldogs to the CFP. And if the Committee is going to set the precedent of leaving undefeated, Power 5 Conference Champions at home, they shouldn’t have stopped with the Seminoles.

Were the Georgia Bulldogs robbed of a College Football Playoff spot?

You see, the true offense here isn’t that the Bulldogs lost at the end of the season; rather, it’s that they lost. Had the Bulldogs’ only defeat of the year occurred in Week 5 against the #8 Alabama Crimson Tide, they would have fallen from #1 to #4 instead of #6. You are aware of it. I am aware of it. The Committee is aware of this. However, they chose the simple route. Consider it. The fallout from keeping the Seminoles at home can be handled by the Committee. All they need to do is bring up Jordan Travis’ horrific wound. However, leaving two unbeaten Power 5 Conference Champions at home and sending the one-losing Bulldogs, Crimson Tide, and Texas Longhorns in, well, let’s just say, they didn’t want that smoke.

It’s that simple, folks. So, even though I told you the Crimson Tide would be the #1 reason the Bulldogs wouldn’t three-peat back in October, it doesn’t mean I’m happy about it!….
