Texans Welcomes $700 Million WR Prolific Star For 2024 Season..

Will Trey Lance show improvement in second NFL start? 5 Burning questions for 49ers-Texans

Because they have excellent playmakers on both sides of the ball, a lot of people think they are the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year.

According to a USA Today article from last week, the San Francisco 49ers of 2023 might actually break the record for the most Pro Bowlers in a single season. Currently, that figure is 12.

In theory, the 49ers could still have twelve players selected for the Pro Bowl; they would simply not go. If the 49ers were eliminated from the Super Bowl, however, their chances of having 12 players selected for the Pro Bowl would be significantly higher because the NFC representative would not be sending any players to the Pro Bowl.

As you can see, fifteen Niners players are among the top ten vote-getters in their respective categories. These are their NFC ranks.

Six 49ers players are among the top three paid players in the NFL for their positions, as reported by Pro Football Talk.

Nine of their players make between $34 million and $13.5 million a year.

Undoubtedly, this is a team with a lot of highly compensated star power.

The 49ers also own the largest salary-cap space of any NFL team following a round of recent contract modifications to reallocate some cash.

The 49ers are currently $41.2 million under the league’s $224.8 million salary cap, according to NFL Players Association figures. The Cleveland Browns are next with $34 million in cap space, followed by the Arizona Cardinals with a $14 million cap cushion.

The San Francisco 49ers are hoping to position themselves for success with the recent contract restructurings of Arik Armstead, Trent Williams, and George Kittle, according to general manager John Lynch, who spoke with NBC Sports Bay Area.

Their greatest extravagance? Behind Sam Darnold and Brandon Allen, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is the third highest paid player on the team and is ranked 81st in the league with an annual salary of $934,253. He is a strong candidate to win the 2023 NFL Offensive MVP award.

The 49ers need to figure out how to account for the future cap numbers of players like Williams, Armstead, Kittle, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, Deebo Samuel, Javon Hargrave, Christian McCaffrey, Charvarius Ward, and others if they want to retain the core of their team.

San Francisco 49ers Trade Proposal Sends Brandon Aiyuk To Houston Texans

The 49ers’ ultimate goal is to retain all of their current stars, but with so many players needing pay, that won’t be possible.

There were rumors in early September that Aiyuk would be extended by John Lynch and the 49ers brass, but as Pro Football Talk pointed out, it would be better to come to a long-term agreement sooner rather than later, and as of right now, the two parties don’t even appear to be in negotiations.

His most recent campaign, which featured 78 receptions for 1,015 yards and eight touchdowns, is now behind him. Aiyuk gave off the impression that he was prepared to become one of the best receivers in the game after a stellar training camp.

He is scheduled to make a fully guaranteed $14.1 million next season after the 49ers picked up his fifth-year option.

Brandon Aiyuk has already surpassed last year’s numbers in terms of yards (1,203) which is 8th in the NFL amongst all wide receivers. He has six touchdowns and is averaging 18.5 yards per catch (also 8th in the NFL).

However, there has been talk recently that Aiyuk will be a highly sought-after asset for trading partners in the upcoming season due to his impressive back-to-back seasons of play.

According to a recent Bleacher Report article speculating on the six most shocking NFL trades made this offseason, Aiyuk might be the No. 1 wideout that helps propel the Houston Texans to victory, especially with new head coach DeMeco Ryans and rookie quarterback CJ Stroud.

Given the Texans’ offer of draft capital in this transaction, there’s a good chance Lynch, Shanahan, and company would bite to keep adding players to their roster.
