Despite finishing the season without making the playoffs, the Las Vegas Raiders have been playing exceptionally well since Antonio Pierce assumed the role of interim head coach. The team had started the season 3-5, but since then, they have improved to 4-4. Owner Mark Davis, according to the reports, is still considering his options regarding Antonio Pierce’s potential to have the interim tag removed.
According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, a Las Vegas Raiders source texted her to inform her that Pierce’s future has not yet been decided.

Though they find themselves in an unusual situation, the Raiders should seize the chance to turn the franchise around. Jimmy Garoppolo, the team’s backup quarterback, has to establish a strong culture, and during the final nine weeks of the regular season, Pierce has done a fantastic job of doing just that.
The Raiders are being wise in not hiring him right away because there may be a lot of coach turnover this offseason, with Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, Bill Belichick, and other coaches becoming available. I know the players want Antonio Pierce to take over as head coach, and when all is said and done, I think that’s what’s best, but creating a window of opportunity to draw in a prestigious head coach as soon as Black Monday arrives is the best course of action.
Although the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos are three formidable teams in their division and have their own set of concerns, the Raiders have the potential to emerge as major contenders in 2024.
