Raiders Includes $11.8 Million Harrison Bryant For 2024 Season…

Raiders adding free agent TE Harrison Bryant on 1-year deal

With Michael Mayer in place as the Raiders’ starting tight end, the team will bring in one of Austin Hooper‘s former teammates to fill the sidekick role at the position.

Hooper committed to the Patriots on Tuesday night, rejoining Alex Van Pelt in New England. The Raiders will move to ex-Browns role player Harrison Bryant on a one-year deal ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter notes is worth $3.25MM.

After a day with no incoming free agent news coming out of Las Vegas, the Raiders were back in the fray on Day 3, adding some help at tight end. They are signing former Brown TE Harrison Bryant on a one-year deal.

The former fourth round pick bulks up a position that could use some added talent. The Raiders appear to be letting Austin Hooper leave as a free agent, thus leaving just last year’s round two pick Michael Mayer at the position with any real starting experience.

Bryant started 30 games over the past four seasons in Cleveland with a combined 89 catches for 791 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The 6-5, 230-pounder had caught 65 passes for 1007 yards and seven TD’s in his senior season at Florida Atlantic, so he was expected to be more of a receiving threat than he turned out to be at the NFL level.

As it stands, he never had more than five catches in a game and only once had more than 50 yards receiving in a game. So, yeah, he must be a pretty decent blocker.
