The Jacksonville Jaguars are hoping for a big year from free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis, who the team signed to a three-year, $39 million deal in free agency. The ex-Buffalo Bill will be depended on to improve a Jaguars’ passing game that will be replacing Calvin Ridley and looking to outdo last year’s dissapointment.

But what exactly are the Jaguars getting in Davis? Nathaniel Marrero of Bills Central breaks it down for us.

Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans by the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday, with the AFC East franchise allowing the star wide receiver to pick his next destination outside of one team

The Buffalo Bills are said to have allowed Stefon Diggs to seek a trade with any team but the Kansas City Chiefs before his move to the Houston Texans, as per Chris Simms on Pro Football Talk. The Bills were keen to avoid strengthening a direct conference rival.

Diggs has been instrumental in getting the Bills to the playoffs for three consecutive seasons, yet the team has consistently fallen short of Super Bowl glory with the Chiefs often in their way. Despite strong regular-season performances, playoff success has eluded them.

Notably, during Diggs’ tenure with the Bills, their postseason campaigns were halted by the Chiefs three times in four years. After a 38-24 defeat at Arrowhead Stadium in the AFC Championship, Diggs lingered on the field to witness the Chiefs’ celebrations, later saying he wanted to “embrace the moment” for future motivation.

In a particularly heart-wrenching playoff loss in 2021, the Bills were ahead until the final 13 seconds when Patrick Mahomes orchestrated a last-gasp drive that led to a game-tying field goal, with the Chiefs eventually clinching victory in overtime.

Buffalo’s 2022 season came to a halt at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals, a match that saw Bills Mafia witness a sideline spat between Stefon Diggs and quarterback Josh Allen. Despite previously being one of the NFL’s top pairings, their rapport seemed to wane as Diggs racked up 246 fewer yards in the 2023 regular season compared to the previous year.

The Bills’ defeat to the Chiefs in the 2023 Divisional Round was a bitter moment for many, but it marked an even more significant occasion for Diggs: his last game with the team. On Wednesday night, he took to Instagram to bid an emotional farewell to Buffalo, his teammates, and the loyal Bills fans.

His message read: “I can’t begin to express the amount of love and respect I have for the city of Buffalo. Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. I’m forever grateful for you all and the @buffalobills organization!”

It continued: “Something special was built over these years with some very special men, that will always have a place in my heart. Billsmafia, so many great memories created throughout the years. Those games were crazy because of you. Sadly good things come to an end until we meet again.”

Diggs became a Bill in 2020 after starting his career with the Minnesota Vikings, who picked him in the fifth round of the 2015 draft. His time in Minnesota saw him rise to become one of the league’s standout receivers

Now a seasoned player, Diggs is set to join forces with the promising Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud in an attempt to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Houston. The 2023 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year made a significant impact last season, transforming the Texans from a 3-13-1 record in 2022 to 10-7, securing the AFC South title and a playoff win.

With Diggs, Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Joe Mixon among his offensive arsenal, the future looks bright for Stroud in Houston – who can express gratitude towards Buffalo for not sending the four-time Pro Bowler to the two-time champions in Kansas City.
